This talk was delivered on August 9, , at the Ron Paul Leadership and Strategy Meeting in Brazoria, Texas. The biggest enemy liberty faces is demoralization and discouragement among its friends. This has always been true. It is also true that there has always been a good case to be made for demoralization and discouragement. The founding fathers felt it before A man cannot deny his discouragement any more than he can deny his existence. It is part of his existence. All he can do is deny himself the luxury of discouragement; he can mortify his tendency to self-pity. By becoming Christ-centered instead of self-centered, a man re-orientates his perceptions so as no longer to see discouragement by the light of the world, or in its purely human . Discouragement is the collapse of our courage, of our faith and stamina. While everyone goes through discouraging periods, the Bible takes an unusually hard line against giving in to discouragement. If, as overwhelmingly projected, President Donald J. Trump loses his bid for re-election, many will be those who find discouragement in what they view as unanswered prayers. Many many prayed for his victory. If discouraged, one might look at another possible perspective.
